A little bit about me...

The author with the unusual name is a nationally acclaimed writer of poetry and short stories. He is the Cowboy Poet Laureate of Tennessee. To discover the facts behind the origin of his name, you’ll need to read "The Shade Tree Choir."

David Nelson Nelson is from Dubuque, Iowa and was graduated from The University of Dubuque and from The University of Iowa, where he received his graduate training as a physical therapist. He was also an ergonomist and was nationally certified in many specialties prior to retirement.

He carried the Olympic Torch for the 1996 Summer Olympics held in Atlanta, Georgia. He is a prolific public speaker and writer having been published in numerous journals and magazines.

David’s other venue is that of being a cowboy poet. This avocation is based on practical and imaginary experiences.
